Frequently Asked Questions

What services does Jones DPM offer?

Jones DPM provides MIL-STD-130 compliant identification marking services for aerospace, defense, and industrial components. We specialize in precision silkscreen marking of part numbers, serial numbers, CAGE codes, NSNs, revision levels, and UID human-readable data on metal and engineered plastic components.

All markings are applied using durable epoxy ink systems designed for long-term legibility and performance. Services are ideal for flat panels, nameplates, enclosures, brackets, and production components requiring permanent identification.

We focus on accuracy, repeatability, and specification compliance to support regulated manufacturing environments.

Can you meet MIL-STD-130 and verify code quality?

Jones DPM applies identification markings in accordance with MIL-STD-130 dimensional, layout, and legibility requirements. We control character size, stroke width, contrast, and curing processes to ensure durable and compliant human-readable identification marking.

When UID Data Matrix symbols are required, we follow customer-specified formatting and placement requirements. Formal Data Matrix verification to ISO/IEC or AIM standards can be performed by the customer or coordinated through approved third-party verification services upon request.

What files types do you accept?

Jones DPM accepts vector-based artwork in the following formats:

  • PDF (preferred)

  • SVG

  • AI

  • DXF

All artwork should be submitted at true size and in solid black for film output. Text should be converted to outlines/paths prior to submission.

If vector artwork is not available, high-resolution raster files (minimum 300 DPI at final size) may be accepted, though vector files are strongly preferred for precision marking applications.

What is your typical lead time?

Standard turnaround for silk screen marking is typically 5–10 business days, depending on order size and artwork readiness.

Expedited service may be available for repeat jobs or previously created screens. Lead times are confirmed at time of quotation.
